Yeah, today I went down to “Stingray Flats” with my good buddy GScratch to try and hook another Sturgeon. When I showed up a “Fish Cop” was on the scene there. However, he was NOT checking licenses! Actually, he was out educating the public!
I showed him mine anyways, as it’s the first time I have been “checked” on the NSR in over 20 years fishing, and about the third in as many times fishing. I always have mine on me. So, of course I thanked him for his efforts in coming out to educate the public. He was still checking for other “violations of the law” such as barbed hooks. Yup, that’s a “no-no” in Alberta.
He reminded me, that even if I didn’t have my license it would be cool, as it was “Free Family Fishing” weekend. I forgots, or I would have blogged it. Anyways, the day turned out to be more like “Free Family Planning” fishing day. Uhm yeah, I caught me another snake skin on the NSR today.
Sorry, I had to cut the line on this one too. More pics here, and I will post some video on FiftyNorth.ca later.
<Yes, it’s true. I have a PHD in Horribleness.. and a 60 GB D/L capacity.>
Now, please excuse me while I lay down on my new bear skin, and read some Dr. Horrible this evening. Yes, that’s at least one less bear in the world to get me. Thanks to my buddy SaskAlan!

P.S. – No, I did NOT go out and do Muir Madness this year at midnight, so move along, nothing to see here.
P.P.S. – Here’s an interesting factoid for you. My fishing buddy Ray (a.k.a. Tuber / @brokenfishnet) is a first cousin of “Captain Hammer” on the Dr. Horrible DVD. Now, how cool is that.

Hi, lancetay.
You have a new direct message:
brokenfishnet: Hey lance, We’re actually cousins by marriage – Nathan is my stepfathers nephew
“Apparently Little Grey has slain 390,895 creatures and died 8,543 times while completing 5906 quests, an average of 14.6 quests per day. That means he’s played for about 400 days.
Although there is little information on Little Grey based on those statistics it is fairly safe to say that he had not got a girlfriend, has nothing else but WoW to do with his life and probably eats fairly badly – unless his mum cooks for him.”
I can proudly state that my own stats for Atax in three years of playing this game (mainly during the coldest and darkest months of December to February — after which I close my account for fishing season) are below. I can’t tell you how many times I got laid in the last three years though.. because I am still working on gathering and turning in the honour points for that quest with my wife.. a never-ending quest it seems too.
P.S. – Congrats to my buddy GScratch whom finally bagged his first deer (he actually got two) . Be sure to check out his great blog post here – ‘At the end of the hunt..’ and ‘To hunt or not to hunt..’ whilst there (see also AO post.)
I guess some farmers also have way to much time on their hands it seems, and no I really didn’t need to know they do with their Sheep and Nintendo Power Gloves after dark.
Holy Crap! I woke up this morning, and found out that I was still Canadian, and not American, like I thought I was in that awful nightmare I had just before I got up. =)
Lost Canadians? Bring ‘em home I say.. and in proper fashion too!
Defence minister apologizes for the way military handled return of soldier. 44 minutes ago
HALIFAX, N.S. — Defence Minister Peter MacKay is apologizing for the way the military handled the repatriation of a Canadian soldier killed in Afghanistan, and he says such a mistake won’t happen again.
MacKay said Friday an “operational error” was made when a plane carrying the remains of Trooper Karine Blais, 21, stopped in Ottawa first, and then carried on to Canadian Forces Base Trenton. [ Read More... ]
Welcome Home Karen Blais.. R.I.P. Thank-you for your service to our country, and my deepest condolences to family and friends.
