Gunman Kills 33 In Virginia Tech Rampage, Wounds 29 Others
My elder daughter Katie just walked in the door home from school, and I gave her a big hug. She hadn’t turned on the television or heard the news yet. Nope, we don’t hug our kids hardly often enough these days it seems.
“At least 33 people, including a gunman, were killed Monday during shootings in a dorm and a classroom building at Virginia Tech, university today.”
“On April 16, 2007, multiple shootings occurred on campus.[1] According to media reports, at least 33[2] were killed, including the gunman, and at least 29[1] more were injured. Shootings took place in an academic hall as well as a residential hall. After the shootings, classes were cancelled, and the campus was locked down by local and campus authorities. Initial reports of the events were confused and contradictory, with different numbers of killed and injured being stated by various news agencies. Reports from eyewitnesses and survivors detail that the shooter was an Asian male in his twenties who may have traveled from classroom to classroom to shoot his victims.”
