Still uploading the photos here, and applying liberal amounts of Noxzema for the sunburn. The Klave that never was, is officially done and on the books. Perhaps more video and podcasts of it’s non-existence may surface yet, in due time. Like these photos that made it up to NASA Spaceweather here. Given there was a fire ban up there this year, we got to see a whole lot of dark sky this year.
P.S. – No Grizzly bears were spotted on our side of the Lake. They were on the other side.
PS – Yah, my webserver was down for the past few days.. while I resurrected my PC from the proverbial dead. F@RK man.. I gotta ditch Windoze one day for good and switch to Linux or a MacOS. I keep threatening to to do it.. one day.. I just got to get around to it. Oh wait, perhaps a Mini-Dell 9 is in my future?
Sung To Tune Of: “CLOSE TO YOU”
Lyrics by (apologies to) Kim Carpenter
Bastardized by Scratch & Ranger Bob
Why do bears suddenly appear
Every time I need to squat,
Just like me and you, they long to poop
Close by you.
Why do I have to go poop
Every time they walk by?
On the day we ate some corn and brews
when all the other anglers got together
I had to go poop and a pee underneath a tree
But then I forgot the Charmaines.
Why are all these bears nearby
Following me all around?
On the day that I need to go
pooping in the woods…
oh why do I… have to go… pooping in the woods.
I took the day off work Friday to go do a float trip down the Bow River in Calgary, Alberta with Brian Hepperle and Barry White. For those of you whom don’t know Barry… err.. Santa Clause.. he’s quite the character. I whole-heartedly recommend this trip – you owe it to yourself. I hummed and hawed about it for several years now.
This was the VERY first time in almost 15 years of fly-fishing that I’ve ever paid for a “fishing prostitute” (err.. guide), and well it was worth every penny.
Only 5 more days till the Dolberg CSI Klave.. and the rumors of two Grizzly bears wandering in the campgound have been confirmed. So, I will bring bear repellant along… hope to see you there.
Today, I officially lost 20 lbs. on Atkins since starting February 1st, 2004. Woo hoo!
Just in time for swimsuit season, researchers are revealing the results from new studies on low carb diets.
New evidence shows the plans holds up against traditional diets, and in many cases, they may do more than help shed pounds.
Low carb dieters show a bigger increase in HDL levels, or so-called “good” cholesterol. They also saw a drop in blood fats called triglycerides than low fat dieters. But they also had more side effects like bad breath, headaches and constipation.
“So I think the message I’d like to get out is that people need to keep an open minded about the diet, and we need to do more research into these other diets and consider them as options,” Will Yancy, M.D., Duke diet reasearcher, said.
People with high cholesterol and diabetes should check with their doctor before trying a low carb plan.
LMAO — these are too funny! See my February Blog for more info.
