Well I broke down and picked up a new laptop last week. Yes it has Windows Vista on it, although I came very close to buying a MacBook Pro it finally just came down to price. The new toy is a Gateway M-6874H (specs here). I also re-activated my World Of Warcraft account — Atax rides again! Yeah.. the new laptop requirement had to have the power to run that and FSX (Flight Simulator X). It does a great job on both, and I am very pleased with it so far.
I have also yet to find something Vista won’t run yet.. but then I have not loaded up my Phillips TouCam drivers for my telescope yet.. we’ll see. Waiting a year after it’s initial release though seems to have paid off.
Oh yeah, picked up a door crasher special today at Canadian Tire… a Jazz HDV178 full 720p HD Digital Camcorder (specs here), and got it up and running just now. For only $129 (*REG $199*) — it’s not the greatest HD camera by any stretch and I will take some footage out in the field very soon literally to test it. Grouse hunting season is finally here, and most WMU’s (hunting areas) in the Province of Alberta for game birds open tomorrow on September 15th. Scratch and I did a little exploring today in my Jeep which I also recently spent a wad on fixing up. No… I don’t wanna go there again in my Blog.. as it’s all been said over here on EJC (Edmonton Jeep Cub) in this post.
Whew.. only the first day of my vacation too. What shall I do next? I know, I will cut the lawn.. tomorrow… Gnite!

PS – I guess, somewhere in the blitz of Torrenting, and crashing my machine repeatedly, I must have also updated my Wordpress Blog at somepoint during the night as well. I don’t rightly recall, it’s kinda been a blur. Anyways, I hope you enjoy the minty fresh look… and.. maybe I will get BSD installed next. It looks kinda HOT!
Uhm, am looking to buy my first HD camcorder now.. and well.. while converting FTR time lapse footage into HD-DVD I stumbled across this UBER COOL website this evening and the website she hosted her videos on. Yah… YouTube pretty much sucks now! Vimeo will RULEZ the INTERNET!
