Condom Days ‘R Here Again!

Erm.. of course I mean Klondike Days.. or no wait.. is it Capital-EX, or X, or The Ex? Meh, whatever, it will always be ‘K-Days’ to me, and I will be bee-lining it right for the Chilkoot Mine and the Kiwanna’s Slide of course. The only two attractions there that matter to me at all. If they took either one away from the show I definitely wouldn’t bother going again.
The only other thing worth checking out there are all the “gawdy” vendors at the Sport-Ex for the latest pop-culture gotta have craze, and of course corn dogs and root beer. Mini-donuts are hard to resist as well, but $5.00 slurpees.. uhm.. not a problem staying away from those.
For most of us growing up in Edmonton, I am sure we can all relate to a fellow Edmontonian’s blog entry here (Kimo Trent) about Klondike Mike. Indeed, the very site of that bearded prospector made us go nuts as kids. We miss him and his Silver Dollars and Klondike Kate’s garters, and all the colour and fun they brought to the city with the painted windows.
Anyways, Sunday I will be a panning maniac.. watch for the dude with Gold Fever. Nope, I’m not good enough to join the World gold panning competition yet, but one day, if it’s still around.. you bet I will give it a shot.
As for condom days.. it must be.. after all.. this is what we saw walking down the promenade one year. No really… his date was a “blow up doll”. I am guessing he lost a bet some place, or missed Klondike Kate and her garter posters more then I did.
