UNICADE PROJECT
MONITOR MOUNTING

CHECKING UNDER THE HOOD
As well you'll notice that I mounted a glare guard in front of the 14" Trident SVGA monitor. It helps to cut down on the glare and makes for a sharper image. As a result, you may get some glare from the surrounding glass but not where the action is.
PLAYER 1's VIEWPOINT
(See if you can seperate the glass bezel from the monitor -- betchya can't!) GAME OVER? So, yah the thing actually works! I'm amazed, but even more so are friends and family when they come over! "You have what in your basement?" to whit I can reply "Pick a game, any game!" 8^) Once you fire up a game you become totally immersed in it and begin having flashbacks to all those arcades you once first played the games in. Now, sure a 14" monitor is a far cry from a real arcade monitor, but at least the game play is there! Nope! They sure don't make 'em like they used to! In future, I would like to upgrade to a 17" monitor when they can be had on the cheap. That of course would involve making new glass (which was the second worst part of the project). The one decent thing about the 14" Trident SVGA is that I noted it can be rotated to any angle without magnetic distortion. I have about 3 more in my basement with plans to install one into my cocktail for that very reason. Hmm, who knows another standup with the monitor mounted sideways? STAY TUNED!
